Intro to the randomness

Hey everyone!  So I suddenly decided that my life is very entertaining, and I'm sure everyone wants to read about it!  Or maybe I just want to have a place to share my silly kids stories and stuff about my new business venture as a jewelry lady! :)  Either way, here's what's been going on with me in the last month:

We started back to school, and I have 25 FIRST GRADERS!!!  No, I do not have a parapro and Yes, that is way too many!  Especially when you want to do small group teaching and one-on-one conferencing!  But, I'll make it work, and of course enjoy it as always.  Not to mention, my class this year has quite a personality.  They make me laugh at least once every day.  I have a feeling I will be posting a LOT of stories about GV, GA, AS, and VH.  I also have an intern this year from Georgia Gwinnett.  She is super sweet, and I think it will be a great help to have another pair of hands in the classroom 3 days a week!

In august, I also started my new side business as a Independent Distributor of Premier Designs Jewelry.  I had my training show at the end of August, and it was outstanding!  I was able to get a TON of jewelry to start my collection that I can use at my shows.  Then, I had my first show this weekend.  It went GREAT!  I was a little nervous at first, but then I settled in and relaxed.  I was able to give my hostesses a lot of free and half-priced jewelry, and I had a great time!  In my next blog, I'll have some pics of a few of the necklace tricks I showed.  I have 3 more shows this month, and 1 lined up for next month.  Can't wait to get some more on the calendar!

In other news, I did get some bummer news this past week.  I have vocal fold nodules.  But, the good news is, no surgery!  My very attractive, but married ENT says that 9 times out of 10, they dissipate on their own with voice therapy and lifestyle changes.  I will be going through speaking and singing vocal therapy at the voice center at St. Joseph's.

College football is here!! College football is here!!  UGA had an incredibly hard opponent this first game, but I still have hope for us to pull out a good season.  But, don't worry - I will still be spending a lot of my time cheering on the Bravos!  It would be nice to pull out a division win, but I'll take the wild card.  I just want us to get to the playoffs!

Ok, I can't think of anything else important to say.  Feel free to comment and let me know what you'd like me to blog about.  I may oblige your request or I might completely ignore it ;)

  1. Nice blog, Sarah! Great idea.

Sorry to hear about the nodules, but glad you are getting care at St. Jo's, which is excellent. As I'm sure you know, nodules are an occupational hazard for classroom teachers, but learning to care for your voice will help. (No squealing!) I'm so glad they think surgery will not be necessary.

Sounds like everything else is going well. Hope it's a great year for you! : )
